John, The First Epistle General of.
There can be no doubt that the apostle John was the author of this epistle. It was probably written from Ephesus, and most likely at the close of the first century. In the introduction, ch.
the apostle states the purpose of his epistle: it is to declare the word of life to those whom he is addressing, in order that he and they might be united in true communion with each other, and with God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ. His lesson throughout is that the means of union with God are, on the part of Christ, his atoning blood, ch.

What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have observed, and have touched with our hands, concerning the Word of life- that life was revealed, and we have seen it and we testify and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us- read more. what we have seen and heard we also declare to you, so that you may have fellowship along with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father-Jesus Christ the righteous One. Dear friends, I am not writing you a new command, but an old command that you have had from the beginning. The old command is the message you have heard.
And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself just as He is pure.
You know that He was revealed so that He might take away sins, and there is no sin in Him.
We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death.
Now this is His command: that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another as He commanded us.
But every spirit who does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist; you have heard that he is coming, and he is already in the world now.
Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
And we have seen and we testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Messiah has been born of God, and everyone who loves the parent also loves his child.
And who is the one who conquers the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? Jesus Christ-He is the One who came by water and blood; not by water only, but by water and by blood. And the Spirit is the One who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
