And king Solomon raised a tribute throughout all Israel. And the tribute was thirty thousand men,
Howbeit the staves were so long that the ends of them appeared out of the holy place before the quyre, but were not seen without. And there they be unto this day.

And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he gathered all the house of Judah and the tribe of Benjamin, a hundred and four score thousands of chosen men and good warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, and to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam the son of Solomon. And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all their lives.
And the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha the son of Ahijah began to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, and continued twenty four years.

The twenty seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned seven days in Tirzah, the people besieging Gibbethon a city of the Philistines. And he bought the hill of Samaria of one Shemer for two hundred talents of silver, and built in the hill, and called the name of the city which he had built Samaria after the name of Shemer, the lord of the hill.
Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign upon Judah, the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel, and was thirty five years old when he began to reign and reigned twenty five years in Jerusalem. Like unto him was there no king before him, that turned to the LORD with all his heart, with all his soul, and all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any such.
And a continual portion was assigned him of the king, day by day as long as he lived.
