24 Bible Verses about Fractions, One Half

And all Israel and the elders thereof, and their officers and judges, stood part on this side the ark, and part on that side, before the priests: that were Levites which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD - as well the stranger, as they that were born among them: half of them on the forefront of the Mount of Gerizim, and half of them on the forefront of mount Ebal: as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded, first to bless the people of Israel.

"These shall stand upon mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye are come over Jordan: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin. And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali.

Moreover, that same season was Israel divided in twain, for half the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and the other half followed Omri.

And from that time forth it came to pass, that the half part of the young men did the labour, and the other half part held spears, shields, bows, and breastplates: and the rulers stood behind all the house of Judah,

And I caused the princes of Judah to go up upon the wall, and appointed two great choirs of thanksgiving, which went on the righthand of the wall toward the Dung gate, and after them went Hoshaiah, and half of the princes of Judah,

and their children spake half in the speech of Ashdod, and could not speak in the Jews' language, but according to the language of the one people and the other people.

And Moses gave unto the children of Gad and of Reuben, and unto the half tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land that belonged unto the cities thereof in the coasts of the country round about.

And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, "This is the land which ye shall inherit by lot, and which the LORD commanded to give unto nine tribes and a half: for the tribe of the children of Reuben have received, in the households of their fathers; and the tribe of the children of Gad in their fathers' households; and the half tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance -

and took their land and gave it a heritance unto the Reubenites and Gadites and to the half tribe of Manasseh.

And Moses gave unto the half tribe of Manasseh. And the half tribe of Manasseh had their part by their kindreds. And their coasts were from Mahanaim, even all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair which lie in Bashan, even three score cities, and half Gilead and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which pertain unto the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, and that unto half the children of Machir by their kindreds.

And when they came unto the coasts of Jordan that lie in the land of Canaan: there the children of Ruben, the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh, built an altar fast by Jordan, and that a great altar to see to.

And the children of half the tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land, from Bashan unto Baalhermon and Senir and unto mount Hermon, and they were many.

And he took all these and divided them in the midst, and laid every piece, one over against another. But the fowls divided he not.

And Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and the other half he sprinkled on the altar.

And thus much shall every man give that goeth in the number: half a sicle, after the holy sicle: a sicle is twenty geras: and a half sicle shall be the heave offering unto the LORD.

Yet men neither consider nor understand; because their eyes are stopped that they cannot see, and their hearts, that they can not perceive.read more.
They ponder not in their minds, for they have neither knowledge nor understanding, to think thus, "I have burnt one piece in the fire; I have baked bread with the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh withal, and eaten it: shall I now of the residue make an abomination, and fall down before a rotten piece of wood?" The keeping of dust, and foolishness of heart hath turned them aside: so that none of them can have a free conscience to think, "Do not I err?"
