A hammer: meefits, mafts (Pr 25:18). In Jer 51:20 translated "maul" for "battle axe." So Jer 50:23 Babylon "the hammer of the whole earth," i.e. the mace or war club; as the king of the Franks was Charles "Martel," i.e. little hammer. (Na 2:1.)
