Moreover, when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance; for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear to men to be fasting. Truly do I say to you, They have received their reward. But do thou, when thou fastest, anoint thy head, and wash thy face; read more. that thou appear not to men to be fasting, but to thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father, who seeth in secret, will reward thee.

And they come to the house of the ruler of the synagogue; and he seeth a tumult, and people weeping and wailing greatly.

Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.

So then comfort one another with these words.

for the Lamb who is in the midst before the throne is a shepherd to them, and leadeth them to the fountains of the waters of life; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
