With him I will speak mouth to mouth, even manifestly, and not in dark speeches, and he shall behold the form of LORD. Why then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant, against Moses?

And LORD spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. Ye heard the voice of words, but ye saw no form, only a voice.

Take ye therefore good heed to yourselves, for ye saw no manner of form on the day that LORD spoke to you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire. Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make for you a graven image in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

And under it was the likeness of oxen, which compassed it round about for ten cubits, encompassing the sea round about. The oxen were in two rows, cast when it was cast.

Thus they changed their glory for the likeness of an ox that eats grass.
