This term is found six times in AV of OT. It is applied to Eliezer in Ge 15:2, where RV rightly tr 'he that shall he possessor of my house.' In Ge 43:19; 44:1-4 Joseph's 'steward' (AV and RV) is lit. And Abram said, Lord God, what can You give me, since I am going on [from this world] childless and he who shall be the owner and heir of my house is this [steward] Eliezer of Damascus?

Assuming that you have heard of the stewardship of God's grace (His unmerited favor) that was entrusted to me [to dispense to you] for your benefit,
