King Solomon made a navy of ships in Ezion Geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Sea of Suf, in the land of Edom.

The LORD raised up an adversary to Solomon, Hadad the Edomite. He was of the royal line in Edom.

For it happened, when David was in Edom, and Joab the commander of the army was gone up to bury the slain, and had struck every male in Edom

(for Joab and all Israel remained there six months, until he had killed every male in Edom);

There was no king in Edom: a deputy was king.
