Salma the father of Bethlehem, Hareph the father of Beth-gader.

The sons of Salma: Bethlehem, and the Netophathites. Atroth-Beth-Joab, and the Hazi-Hammana-hethites, the Zorites;

and Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah: these were the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah, and father of Bethlehem.

And David was then in the stronghold; and the Philistines' garrison was then at Bethlehem.

And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me to drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is in the gate!
