And out of the tribe of Gad: Ramoth in Gilead with its pasturelands, Mahanaim with its pasturelands,

The sons of Manasseh: Asriel, whom his Aramean concubine bore; she gave birth to Makir the father of Gilead.

The sons of Ulam: Bedan. These [were] the sons of Gilead the son of Makir, son of Manasseh.

When all Jabesh-Gilead heard all that the Philistines had done to Saul,

And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Makir the father of Gilead. And he married her when he was sixty years old. And she bore Segub to him.

And Segub fathered Jair, and he had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead.

And they lived in Gilead, in Bashan, and in {its towns}, and in all the pasturelands of Sharon to their limits.
