And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he took [to wife] when he was sixty years old, and she bore for him Segub.

And Segub begot Jair, who had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead.

And Geshur and Aram took the towns of Jair from them, with Kenath, and the villages of it, even sixty cities. All these were the sons of Machir the father of Gilead.

And eastward he dwelt even to the entrance of the wilderness from the river Euphrates, because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.

And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand, and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the [land] east of Gilead.

These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz.

And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in its towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, as far as their borders.

And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with its suburbs, and Mahanaim with its suburbs,

The sons of Manasseh: Asriel, whom his concubine the Aramitess bore. She bore Machir the father of Gilead.

And the son of Ulam: Bedan. These were the sons of Gilead the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh.

And when all Jabesh-gilead heard all that the Philistines had done to Saul,

of the half-[tribe] of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo the son of Zechariah; of Benjamin, Jaasiel the son of Abner;
