These be the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar and Zebulun;

The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, and Shelah. These three were born him of the daughter of Shua the Cananitess. But Er the eldest the son of Judah was evil in the sight of the LORD, and therefore he slew him.

And Tamar his daughter-in-law bare him Perez and Zerah: so that all the sons of Judah were five.

The sons of Shelah the son of Judah were Er the father of Lecah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the kindreds of the households of them that wrought bysse in the house of Ashbea.

Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters. But his brethren had not many children, neither were the kindreds of them like to the children of Judah in multitude.

Ziza the son of Shiphi the son of Allon the son of Jedaiah the son of Shimri the son of Shemaiah.

The first lot fell to Jehoiarib. The second to Jedaiah.

The rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram, Shubael. Of the sons of Shubael, Jehdiah.

In Judah, Elihu of the brethren of David. In Issachar, Omri the son of Michael.

And over the camels Obil the Ishmaelite. And over the asses was Jehdiah the Meronothite.

Moreover, the LORD God of Israel chose me of all the house of my father, to be king over Israel forever, for he chose Judah to be a captain: and in the house of Judah the house of my father, and of the sons of my father he had a lust to me, to make me king over all Israel.
