“Because these people (Judah) have refused the gently flowing waters of Shiloah

So look, the sovereign master is bringing up against them the turbulent and mighty waters of the Euphrates River -- the king of Assyria and all his majestic power. It will reach flood stage and overflow its banks.

It will pour into Judah,
flood over it, and sweep through,
reaching up to the neck;
and its spreading streams
will fill your entire land, Immanuel!

For this is what the Lord said to me with great power, to keep me from going the way of this people:

For, the yoke of their burden, The cross-bar of their shoulder, The goad of their driver, Hast thou broken, as in the day of Midian.

Moreover all temerarious and seditious power, yea, where there is but a coat filled with blood, shall be burnt, and feed the fire.

To the increase of the princely power, And of peace, there is no end, On the throne of David, and on his kingdom, To establish it, and to support it, In judgment and in righteousness, Henceforth, even unto the age, The zeal of Jehovah of Hosts doth this.

For burned as a fire hath wickedness, Brier and thorn it devoureth, And it kindleth in thickets of the forest, And they lift themselves up, an exaltation of smoke!

Therefore shall the LORD of Hosts send him poverty in his riches, and burn up his power, as it were with a fire.

Wail, for the Lord's day of judgment is near; it comes with all the destructive power of the sovereign judge.

Moreover, the LORD of Hosts shall once prepare a feast for all people upon the hill: A plenteous, costly, pleasant feast, of fat and well-fed beasts, of sweet and most pure things.

For the Lord’s power will rest on this mountain.

But Moab will be trampled in his place
as straw is trampled in a dung pile.

The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.

As a woman with child draws near to bear, she is in pain and cries out in her pangs; so have we been in Your sight, O Jehovah.

In that day there shall be a vineyard of pure wine; sing concerning it:

Fury is not in Me; Who giveth Me a brier -- a thorn in battle? I step into it, I burn it at once.
