Seeing the multitude of people, Jesus went up the Hill. There He seated Himself, and when His disciples came to Him,
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
Upon descending from the hill country He was followed by immense crowds.
Just then a person with an infectious skin disease came and worshiped Him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can heal me."
And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
And Jesus said to the military officer, "Go on your way; since you have believed [in my power to heal], what you desired will be done for you." And the slave-boy was healed that [very] hour.
And evening having come, they brought to him many demoniacs, and he did cast out the spirits with a word, and did heal all who were ill,
And Jesus said to them, The sons of the wedding hall cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them. But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.
No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch would tear away from the garment, and a worse hole is made.
And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand: and in confirmation of your doctrine heal the sick,
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
"Which of you is there," He replied, "who, if he has but a single sheep and it falls into a hole on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out?
For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
When full, they haul it up on the beach, and sit down and collect the good fish in baskets, while the worthless they throw away.
And Jesus having come forth, saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion upon them, and did heal their infirm;
When He had done this, He climbed the hill to pray in solitude. Night came on, and he was there alone.
Let them be: they are blind guides. And if a blind man is guiding a blind man, the two will go falling into a hole together.
Again, moving thence, Jesus went along by the Lake of Galilee; and ascending the hill, He sat down there.
insomuch that the people wondred when they perceived the dumb to speak, the maimed to be heal'd, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Six days afterwards Jesus took Peter, James and his brother John, and led them up a high hill by themselves;
As they went down the hill Jesus ordered them, "Tell this vision to nobody until the Son of man is raised from the dead."
And I brought him to thy disciples, and they were not able to heal him.
He said to them, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you truly, if you had faith the size of a grain of mustard-seed, you could say to this hill, 'Move from here to there,' and remove it would; nothing would be impossible for you."
And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
And again I say to you, It is of easier labor for a camel to pass through the hole of a needle, than for a rich one to come into the kingdom of God.
When they came near Jerusalem and had reached Bethphage at the Hill of Olives, then Jesus despatched two disciples,
And he said to them, It is in the Writings, My house is to be named a house of prayer, but you are making it a hole of thieves.
"I tell you," replied Jesus, "if you have faith, without ever a doubt, you will do what not only what has been done to the fig tree, but, even if you should say to this hill 'Be lifted up and hurled into the sea!' it would be done.
"So they went out into the roads and gathered together all they could find, both bad and good, and the banqueting hall was filled with guests.
But when the king came in [to the dining hall] to meet the guests, he noticed a man who was not wearing a [proper] wedding outfit.
15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites. For you travel around by sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much of a son of hell as yourselves.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
So as he sat on the Hill of Olives the disciples came up to him in private and said, "Tell us, when will this happen? What will be the sign of your arrival and of the end of the world?"
and while they were gone to buy, the bridegroom came, and they that were ready, entred with him into the hall, and the door was shut.
Then the chief priests, and scribes, and elders of the people, were assembled in the hall of the high priest, called Caiaphas.
And after they had sung a hymn, they went up to the Mount of Olives. [Note: This was a small hill just east of Jerusalem]
And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
Now Peter sat without in the hall. And one of the maid-servants came to him saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.
Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.
And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
As for the eleven disciples, they proceeded into Galilee, to the hill where Jesus had arranged to meet them.
Then a person with an infectious skin disease came to Jesus and, kneeling down before Him, begged Him, saying, "If you want to, you can heal me." [Note: Throughout this narrative the term "heal/healing" is originally "clean/cleansing" because the Jews viewed a person with such a disease as ceremonially "unclean." See Lev. 13:1-3].
And when they were unable to get near Jesus, because of the [large] crowd, they removed [a section of] the roof [directly above Him]. [Note: The roof was a flat area, where people retired for rest, prayer, etc., and easily accessible from an outside stairway]. And when they had broken open [a sizable hole], they lowered the cot on which the paralyzed man was lying.
And Jesus said to them, The sons of the wedding hall cannot fast while the bridegroom is with them. As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, or else the patch shrinks and the new tears away from the old, and a worse hole is made.
And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.
for he did heal many, so that they threw themselves on him, in order to touch him -- as many as had plagues;
Then He went up the hill; and those whom He Himself chose He called, and they came to Him.
And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:
and he was not able there any mighty work to do, except on a few infirm people having put hands he did heal them;
He then bade the people farewell, and went away up the hill to pray.
Six days afterwards Jesus took Peter, James and John, and led them up a high hill by themselves alone; in their presence he was transfigured,
And as they came down from the hill, he charged them, that they should tell no man what they had seen, till the son of man were risen from death again.
And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
47 If your eye causes you to stumble, cast it out.[note: idiom meaning to stop doing a sin] It is better for you to enter into the Kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell,
And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
For in hell the worm of those who are there will never die [i.e., their gnawing punishment will never cease] and the fire [there] will never go out.
For everyone will be salted with fire. [Note: This meant either the suffering "salt" of fiery trials (the sacrifices of verses 43-47 or the punishing "salt" of being thrown into a fiery hell (verse 45-48)].

But when they shall hale you and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak; for it is not yet that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
and Peter afar off did follow him, to the inside of the hall of the chief priest, and he was sitting with the officers, and warming himself near the fire.
And Peter being in the hall beneath, there doth come one of the maids of the chief priest,
And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band.
And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!
And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;
And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judaea.
Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;
And even now the axe is also ready to chop down the trees at their roots [i.e., you Jews]. Every tree [i.e., person] that does not produce wholesome fruit [i.e., a godly life] will be cut down and thrown into the fire [i.e., the punishment of hell]."
John answered [their concerns] by saying to all of them, "I am [the one] immersing you in water, but One who is more powerful than I will follow my [ministry]. I am not [even] worthy to loosen the straps of His sandals. He will immerse you people with the Holy Spirit and with fire [i.e., the punishment of hell. See Matt. 3:10-12].
And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,
[Heli was] the son of Matthat, who was the son of Levi, who was the son of Melchi, who was the son of Jannai, who was the son of Joseph,
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.
And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.
And at the setting of the sun, all, as many as had any ailing with manifold sicknesses, brought them unto him, and he on each one of them his hands having put, did heal them.
But when he ceased speaking, he said to Simon, Draw out into the deep water and let down your nets for a haul.
For astonishment had laid hold on him, and on all those who were with him, at the haul of fishes which they had taken;
And it happened while Jesus was in one of the towns [i.e., surrounding Lake Galilee], that a man covered with an infectious skin disease appeared and, when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face [to the ground] and begged Him, saying, "If you want to, you can heal me." [Note: Throughout this narrative the terms "heal/healing" are originally "clean/cleansing" because the Jews viewed a person with such a disease as ceremonially "unclean." See Lev. 13:1-3].
And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
