Behold, when we come into the land, you shall bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which you did let us down by: and you shall bring your father, and your mother, and your brethren, and all your father's household, home unto you.

And she said, According unto your words, so be it. And she sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet line in the window.

And he struck Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he the ones to put to death, and with one full line the ones to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts.

I lifted up my eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.
