He ruled over everything west of the Euphrates River from Tiphsah to Gaza, over all of the kings west of the Euphrates River, and he enjoyed peace on all sides around him.

At another time, Menahem attacked Tiphsah and all of its inhabitants, including its coastlands from Tirzah, because they would not open the city gate for him. After defeating them, he ripped open all of their pregnant women.

Devious minds are abhorrent to the LORD, but those whose ways are innocent are his delight.

Someone whose conduct is upright fears the LORD, but whoever is devious in his ways despises him.

A quick tempered person does foolish things, and a devious man is hated.
