And Jehovah troubled them before Israel, and killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goes up to Beth-horon, and struck them to Azekah, and to Makkedah.

But these five kings fled and hid themselves in a cave at Makkedah.

And it was told to Joshua, saying, The five kings have been found hidden in a cave at Makkedah.

And all the people returned in peace to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah. None moved his tongue against any of the sons of Israel.

And that day Joshua took Makkedah and struck it with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed the king of it, them, and every soul in it. He let none remain. And he did to the king of Makkedah as he did to the king of Jericho.

And Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, to Libnah, and fought against Libnah.

the king of Makkedah, one; the king of Bethel, one;

and Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages;

how much less man who is a maggot, and the son of man, who is a worm?
