Then said the LORD unto Abraham, "Wherefore doth Sara laugh saying, 'shall I of a surety bear a child, now when I am old?' Is the thing too hard for the LORD to do? In the time appointed will I return unto thee, as soon as the fruit can have life. And Sara shall have a son." Then Sara denied it, saying, "I laughed not." For she was afraid. But he said, "Yes, thou laughtest."

The sons of Seir: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer and Dishan. The sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam; and Timna was Lotan's sister. The sons of Shobal: Alian, Manahath, Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. The sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah. The sons of Anah: Dishon. The sons of Dishon: Hamran, Eshbon, Ithran and Cheran. The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan and Jaakan. The sons of Dishan: Uz, and Aran. These are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned among the children of Israel: Bela the son of Beor, and the name of his city was Dinhabah. And when Bela was dead, Jobab the son of Zereh of Bozrah reigned in his stead. And after the death of Jobab, Husham of the land of Temani reigned in his room, and after the death of Husham, Hadad the son of Bedad, which beat the Midianites in the fields of Moab, reigned in his room, and the name of his city was Avith. And after the death of Hadad, Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead. And after the death of Samlah, Shaul of Rehoboth upon Euphrates reigned in his place. And after the death of Shaul, Baalhanan the son of Achbor reigned in his room. And after the death of Baalhanan, Hadad reigned in his place, and the name of his city was Pai, and his wife's name was Mehetabel the daughter of Matred the daughter of Mezahab. But after the death of Hadad, there were dukes in Edom: Duke Timna, duke Aliah, duke Jetheth: duke Oholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon, duke Kenaz, duke Teman, duke Mibzar, duke Magdiel and duke Iram. These were the dukes of Edom.
