For it has been plainly told me concerning you, my brothers, by Chloe's people, that there are dissensions among you. I mean by this that one of you says, "I am a follower of Paul"; another, "I of Apollos"; another, "I of Cephas"; another, "I of Christ."

When one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos," are you not mere worldlings? What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Just ministers through whom you have believed, and each doing the work that the Lord gave him. I planted, Apollos watered, but God made the seed grow.

Now it happened that while Apollos was in Corinth, Paul, after passing through the hinterland, came to Ephesus, where he found a few disciples.

I mean by this that one of you says, "I am a follower of Paul"; another, "I of Apollos"; another, "I of Cephas"; another, "I of Christ."

Now a certain Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, a learned man and mighty in the Scriptures, came to Ephesus. He had been instructed in the ways of the Lord, and being full of zeal, he used to speak and to teach accurately the facts about Jesus, although he knew only the baptism of John. He began to speak boldly in the synagogue; and when Priscilla and Aquila heard him they took him home and explained to him more accurately the way of God. read more.
When he wished to cross over into Achaia, the brothers encouraged him, and wrote to the disciples in Corinth to receive him. On his arrival he mightily helped those who through grace had believed, for he powerfully refuted the Jews in public argument, proving to them from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Messiah.

So neither is he who planted anything, nor he who watered, but God alone, who is making the seed grow.

You are not able even now, for you are still unspiritual. While there is among you jealousy and strife, are you not still unspiritual, and behaving like worldlings? When one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos," are you not mere worldlings? What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Just ministers through whom you have believed, and each doing the work that the Lord gave him. read more.
I planted, Apollos watered, but God made the seed grow. So neither is he who planted anything, nor he who watered, but God alone, who is making the seed grow. Now, though he who plants and he who waters are one, each will receive his own reward, according to his own service. For we are God's fellow workers; and you are God's field, you are God's building.

Not so shall it be among you. On the contrary whoever would become great among you shall be your servant;

What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Just ministers through whom you have believed, and each doing the work that the Lord gave him.

But in giving you the following instructions, I cannot praise you; your solemn assemblies do more harm than good. To begin with, I am told??nd I believe there is some truth in it??hat when you meet at a church there are divisions among you. For there must needs be also parties among you, in order that the good may be tested and made known. read more.
Again, when you meet together, there is no true eating of the Lord's Supper; for each one of you begins to eat his own supper; one goes hungry, while another gets drunk.

"Nor do I pray for them alone, but for those also who believe in me through their word,

What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Just ministers through whom you have believed, and each doing the work that the Lord gave him.

How then shall thy call upon Him in whom they do not believe? And how are they to believe in One of whom they have never heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how can men preach unless they are sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring a glad gospel.
