This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment; so that you may approve the things that are excellent; that you may be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ; being filled with the fruit of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, think this way. If in anything you think otherwise, God will also reveal that to you.

that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy;

and the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we also do toward you, to the end he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

Therefore leaving the doctrine of the first principles of Christ, let us press on to perfection?not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith toward God, of the teaching of washings, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this we will do if God permits.

Putting away therefore all wickedness, and all deceit, and hypocrisy, and envy, and all slander, as newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby to salvation, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious:
