Thematic Bible: Adjudication at law
Thematic Bible
Adjudication at law » To be avoided
He that soweth discord and strife, is like one that diggeth up a water brook; but an open enemy is like the water that breaketh out and runneth abroad.
It is a man's honour to keep himself from strife; but they that have pleasure in brawling, are fools every one.
Be not hasty to go to the law, lest thou knowest not what to do when thy neighbor hath confounded thee. Handle thy matter with thy neighbour himself, and discover not another man's secret: lest when men hear thereof, it turn to thy dishonour, and lest thine evil name do not cease.
Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest that adversary deliver ye to the judge, and the judge deliver ye to the minister, and then thou be cast into prison.
