And at the season he sent a servant to the vinedressers, so that he might receive from the vinedressers the fruit of the vineyard.

And David had passed on a little from the top. And, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him with a couple of asses saddled, and upon them two hundred loaves of bread, and a hundred bunches of raisins, and a hundred of summer fruits, and a bottle of wine.

And seeing a fig tree in the way, He came to it and found nothing on it except leaves only. And He said to it, let no fruit grow on you forever. And immediately the fig tree withered away.

And God said, Let the earth bring forth tender sprouts (the herb seeding seed and the fruit tree producing fruit after its kind, whose seed is in itself) upon the earth; and it was so.

The Lord Jehovah made me see this: And behold, a basket of summer fruit!


Woe is me! For I am like the gatherings of summer fruits, like the grape-gleanings of the vintage. There is no cluster to eat; my soul desires the first-ripe fruit.

As for me, behold, I will live at Mizpah to serve the Chaldeans, who have come to us. But you go gather wine, and summer fruits, and oil, and put them in your vessels, and live in your cities that you have taken.

And the wine is so that the ones who are faint in the wilderness may drink.

On account of this I will weep with the weeping of Jazer, the vine of Sibmah. I will water you with my tears, O Heshbon and Elealeh; for the shouting has fallen on your fruit and on your harvest.

and the glorious beauty, on the head of the fat valley, shall be a fading flower, and as the first-ripe fruit before the summer; which the beholder of it swallows up while it is yet in his hand.

O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for you with the weeping of Jazer. Your plants have gone over the sea; they reach to the sea of Jazer. A ravager has fallen on your summer fruits and on your grape crop.

Jehovah caused me to see, and behold, two baskets of figs set before the temple of Jehovah (after Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had exiled Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the rulers of Judah, with the craftsmen and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon); one basket had very good figs, like the first ripe figs. And the other basket had very bad figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad. Then Jehovah said to me, What do you see, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs are very good, and the bad are very bad, so that they cannot be eaten, they are so bad.


The Lord Jehovah made me see this: And behold, a basket of summer fruit! And He said, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then Jehovah said to me, The end has come to My people Israel: I will never pass by them any more.


I saw the Lord standing by the altar. And He said, Strike the capital of the door, so that the thresholds shall shake; and break them on the head of all of them. And I will kill the last of them with the sword. Not one of them fleeing will flee, and not a fugitive of them will escape.

Then the Lord said, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of My people Israel. I will not again pass by them any more. And the high places of Isaac shall be wasted, and the holy places of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.

The Lord Jehovah made me see this: And behold, a basket of summer fruit! And He said, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then Jehovah said to me, The end has come to My people Israel: I will never pass by them any more. And the songs of the temple shall be howlings in that day, says the Lord Jehovah. Hear this, you who trample the poor, even to make the humble of the land to fail, saying, When will the new moon be gone so that we may sell grain? And the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small and the shekel great, and perverting the balances by deceit; that we may buy the poor for silver and the needy for a pair of sandals; and sell the chaff of the wheat?
