Whoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If any one cometh to you, and bringeth not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither wish him happiness: For he that wisheth him happiness, is partaker of his evil deeds.
Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.
Be not among wine-bibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh: For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.
Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them. For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
I have written to you in this epistle, not to associate with persons guilty of lewdness: Yet not altogether with lewd persons of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters: for then ye must needs go out of the world. There is one alone, and there is not a second; yes, he hath neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labor; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither saith he, For whom do I labor, and bereave my soul of good? This is also vanity, yes, it is a grievous labor. Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. read more.
