And the Pharisees and Sadducees having come to Him, tempting Him, asked Him to show them a sign from heaven.
And others tempting, continued to seek with Him a sign from heaven.
And Herod seeing Jesus, rejoiced exceedingly: for from a long time, wishing to see Him, because He was hearing about Him; and he was hoping to see some miracle wrought by Him.
And the multitudes being assembled, He began to say, This is a wicked generation: it seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.
Then certain ones of the scribes and Pharisees responded, saying, Teacher, we wish to see a sign from Thee. He responding, said to them, A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and no sign shall be given unto it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.
