Again, on the morrow, John was standing, and two of his disciples; and, looking upon Jesus as He was walking, says, "Behold, the Lamb of God!" And the two disciples heard him speaking, and they followed Jesus. read more.
And Jesus, turning and beholding them following, saith to them, "What are ye seeking?" They said to Him, "Rabbi," (which, being translated, means Teacher), "where abidest Thou?" He saith to them, "Come and ye shall see." They came, therefore, and saw where He was abiding, and they abode with Him that day: it was about the tenth hour. Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard it from John, and followed Him. He first finds his own brother Simon, and says to him, "We have found the Messiah," (which, being translated, is Christ). He led him to Jesus. Jesus looking on him, said, "You are Simon, the son of John; you shall be called Cephas," (which is translated Peter). On the morrow, He wished to go forth into Galilee; and He findeth Philip, and saith to him, "Follow Me." Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip finds Nathanael, and says to him, "We have found Him of Whom Moses in the law and the prophets wrote??esus of Nazareth, the Son of Joseph." And Nathanael said to him, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?" Philip says to him, "Come and see." Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and He saith to him, "Behold, an Israelite, indeed, in whom there is no guile!" Nathanael says to Him, "Whence knowest Thou me?" Jesus answered, and said to him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you." Nathaniel answered Him, "Rabbi, Thou art the Son of God; Thou art the King of Israel." Jesus answered, and said to him, "Because I said to you, I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You shall see greater things than these." And He saith to him, "Verily, verily, I say to you, ye shall see Heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."
