And they shall have the cities to live in. And their open lands shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their animals. As to the cities of the Levites, the houses of the cities of their possession, the Levites shall have a never-ending redemption. And if a man purchases a house from the Levites, then the house that was sold and the city of his possession shall go out in the year of jubilee. For the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the sons of Israel. But the field of the open land of their cities may not be sold, for it is theirs forever.
And the heads of the fathers of the Levites came near to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel. And, when you make fall the land by lot for inheritance, you shall offer an offering to Jehovah, a holy portion of the land. The length shall be twenty-five thousand cubits long, and the width ten thousand. It shall be holy in all its borders all around. Of this there shall be five hundred by five hundred cubits for the sanctuary, square all around; and fifty cubits around shall be for its open space. And the sanctuary shall be in its middle. The heave offering that you shall offer to Jehovah shall be twenty-five thousand cubits long, and ten thousand cubits wide. And they shall not sell any of it, nor trade it, nor cause the first-fruits of the land to pass away. For it is holy to Jehovah. And the five thousand that are left in the width in front of the twenty-five thousand shall be common for the city, for dwelling and for open land. And the city shall be in her midst. And these shall be its measures: the north side, four thousand and five hundred; and the south side, four thousand and five hundred; and on the east side, four thousand and five hundred; and the west side, four thousand and five hundred. And the open land of the city shall be northward two hundred and fifty, and southward two hundred and fifty; and eastward, two hundred and fifty; and westward, two hundred and fifty. And the rest in length alongside the heave offering of the holy parts shall be ten thousand eastward and ten thousand westward. And it shall be alongside the heave offering of the holy part. And its produce shall be for bread to those who serve the city. And he who serves the city shall serve it out of all the tribes of Israel.
