And he shall pluck away its crop with its feathers, and throw it beside the altar on the east part, by the place of the ashes. And he shall cut it in two with the wings of it, not dividing it. As to the cities of the Levites, the houses of the cities of their possession, the Levites shall have a never-ending redemption. And if a man purchases a house from the Levites, then the house that was sold and the city of his possession shall go out in the year of jubilee. For the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the sons of Israel. But the field of the open land of their cities may not be sold, for it is theirs forever.

And the heads of the fathers of the Levites came near to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel. And they spoke to them in Shiloh, in the land of Canaan, saying, Jehovah commanded by the hand of Moses to give cities to us to live in, and their open lands for our cattle. All the cities of the Levites within the possession of the sons of Israel were forty-eight cities and their open lands. These cities were each one with their open lands around them. So it was to all these cities.

You have heard the blasphemy; what do you think? And they all condemned Him to be guilty of death. And some began to spit on Him, and to cover His face and to beat Him, and to say to Him, Prophesy! And the under-officers struck Him with slaps.

And it becoming early morning, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put Him to death. And when they had bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

And when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people, Pilate said to them, You have brought this Man to me as perverting the people. And behold, having examined Him before you, I have found no fault in this Man regarding those things of which you accuse Him; no, nor even Herod, for I sent you to him, and lo, nothing worthy of death has been done by Him. read more.
Therefore I will chastise Him and release Him. (For it was necessary for him to release one to them at the feast.) And they all cried out at once, saying, Away with this One! And release to us Barabbas (who was thrown into prison because of a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder). And Pilate, willing to release Jesus, spoke again to them. But they cried, saying, Crucify! Crucify Him! And he said to them the third time, Why? What evil has He done? I have found no cause of death in Him, therefore I will chastise Him and let Him go. But they pressed on him, with loud voices, requesting that He might be crucified. And their voices and those of the chief priests prevailed. And Pilate gave judgment that their request should be granted.

And lighting a fire in the middle of the court, and they sitting down, Peter sat in their midst. But a certain slave-girl saw him as he sat by the fire and earnestly looked on him and said, This man was with him also. read more.
And he denied Him, saying, Woman, I do not know Him. And after a little while another saw him and said, You also are of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not! And about an hour afterward, another confidently affirmed, saying, Truly this one was also with him, for he is a Galilean. And Peter said, Man, I do not know what you say. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said to him, Before the cock crows, you shall deny Me three times. And Peter went out and wept bitterly. And the men who held Jesus mocked Him, beating Him. And blindfolding Him, they struck Him on His face. And they asked Him, saying, Prophesy! Who is it who struck you? And they spoke many other things blasphemously against Him. And when day came, the body of elders of the people, and the chief priests and the scribes, came together. And they led Him to the sanhedrin, saying, Are you the Christ? Tell us. And He said to them, If I tell you, you will not believe. Also if I ask you, you will not answer Me nor let Me go. From now on the Son of Man shall sit at the right hand of the power of God. And they all said, Are you then the Son of God? And He said to them, You say it, because I AM! And they said, What need do we have for any witness? For we ourselves have heard it from his own mouth.

And Simon Peter and another disciple followed Jesus. That disciple was known to the high priest, and he went in with Jesus into the court of the high priest. But Peter stood at the door outside. Then the other disciple went out, the one who was known to the high priest, and spoke to her who kept the door and brought Peter in. Then the girl who kept the door said to Peter, Are you not also one of this man's disciples? He said, I am not. read more.
And the servants and officers who had made a fire of coals stood there, for it was cold. And they warmed themselves. And Peter stood with them and warmed himself. Then the high priest asked Jesus of His disciples and of His teaching. Jesus answered him, I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in the synagogue and in the temple, where the Jews always resort, and I have said nothing in secret. Why do you ask Me? Ask those who heard me what I have said to them. Behold, they know what I said. And when He had spoken this way, one of the officers who stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Do you answer the high priest so? Then Pilate said to them, You take him and judge him according to your Law. Then the Jews said to him, It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death (that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled, which He spoke signifying what death He was about to die).

Therefore Levi has no part nor inheritance with his brothers. Jehovah is his inheritance, according as Jehovah your God promised him. Verse Concepts

Now the first lot came out to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah, the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim, the fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin, the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah, the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah, the eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim, the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab, the fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer, the seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Aphses, the nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezekel, the twenty-first to Jachin, the twenty-second to Gamul, the twenty-third to Delaiah, the twenty-fourth to Maaziah. These were their orderings in their service to come into the house of Jehovah, according to their manner, to Aaron their father, as Jehovah, the God of Israel had commanded him.

And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say to the woman, If no man has lain with you, and if you have not gone aside to uncleanness, being under your husband, you are free from this bitter water that causes the curse. But if you have gone aside, being under your husband, and if you are defiled and some man besides your husband has given his semen to you, then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing. And the priest shall say to the woman, Jehovah make you a curse and an oath among your people, when Jehovah makes your thigh to fall away and your belly to swell. And this water that causes the curse shall go into your bowels to make your belly swell and your thigh fall away. And the woman shall say, Amen, amen. And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall blot them out with the bitter water. And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter water that causes the curse. And the water that causes the curse shall enter into her and become bitter. Then the priest shall take the jealousy offering out of the woman's hand and shall wave the offering before Jehovah, and offer it upon the altar. And the priest shall take a handful of the offering, as a memorial of it, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward he shall cause the woman to drink the water. And when he has made her drink the water, then it shall be, if she is defiled and has committed a trespass against her husband, the water that causes the curse shall enter into her and become bitter. And her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall fall away. And the woman shall be a curse among her people. And if the woman is not defiled, but is clean, then she shall be clean, and shall conceive seed. This is the law of jealousies when a woman goes aside, being under her husband, and is defiled. Or when the spirit of jealousy comes on a man, and he is jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before Jehovah, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law. Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and the woman shall bear her iniquity.

Then you shall kill the ram, and take of its blood, and put it upon the tip of the ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood upon the altar all around. And you shall take some of the blood on the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it on Aaron, and on his garments, and on his sons, and on the garments of his sons with him. Also you shall take from the ram the fat and the fat tail, and the fat that covers the inward parts, and the lobe on the liver, and the two kidneys and the fat on them, and the right shoulder, for it is a ram of consecration; and one loaf of bread, and one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer out of the basket of the unleavened bread that is before Jehovah. And you shall put all in the hands of Aaron and in the hands of his sons, and shall wave them for a wave offering before Jehovah. And you shall take them from their hands, and burn them upon the altar for a burnt offering, for a sweet savor before Jehovah. It is an offering made by fire to Jehovah. And you shall take the breast of the ram of Aaron's consecration and wave it for a wave offering before Jehovah. And it shall be your portion. And you shall sanctify the breast of the wave offering, and the shoulder of the heave offering, which is waved, and which is lifted from the ram of the consecration, from what is Aaron's, and from what is for his sons. And it shall be Aaron's and his sons' by a statute forever from the sons of Israel. For it is a heave offering. And it shall be a heave offering from the sons of Israel of the sacrifices of their peace offerings, even their heave offering to Jehovah. And the holy garments of Aaron shall be his sons' after him, to be anointed in them and consecrated in them. The one of his sons that is priest in his place shall put them on seven days, when he comes into the tabernacle of the congregation to minister in the holy place. And you shall take the ram of the consecration, and boil its flesh in the holy place. And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram and the bread that is in the basket, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And they shall eat those things with which the atonement was made, to consecrate and to sanctify them. But a stranger shall not eat because they are holy. And if any of the flesh of the consecrations, or of the bread, remains until the morning, then you shall burn the remainder with fire. It shall not be eaten, because it is holy. And so you shall do to Aaron and to his sons according to all things which I have commanded you. You shall consecrate them seven days.

And you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and wash them with water. And you shall put the holy garments on Aaron, and anoint him and sanctify him, so that he may minister to Me in the priest's office. And you shall bring his sons and clothe them with tunics. read more.
And you shall anoint them, even as you anointed their father, so that they may minister to Me in the priest's office. For their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood for their generations. And Moses did so. According to all that Jehovah commanded him, so he did.

This is the offering of Aaron and of his sons, which they shall offer to Jehovah in the day he is anointed, the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a continual food offering, half of it in the morning and half of it at night. It shall be made in a pan with oil; you shall bring it in. And you shall offer the baked pieces of the food offering, a sweet savor to Jehovah. And the priest of his sons, who is anointed in his stead, shall offer it. It is a statute forever to Jehovah. It shall be wholly burnt. read more.

And Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water. And he put on him the tunic, and girded him with the girdle, and clothed him with the robe, and put the ephod on him, and girded him with the embroidered girdle of the ephod, and bound it to him with it. And he put the miter on his head. Also he put the golden plate, the holy crown, on the miter, on his forehead, even as Jehovah commanded Moses. And Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, and sanctified them. And he sprinkled some of it on the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all its vessels, both the laver and its base, to sanctify them. And he poured of the anointing oil on Aaron's head and anointed him, to sanctify him. And Moses brought Aaron's sons and put tunics on them, and girded them with girdles, and bound turbans on them, even as Jehovah commanded Moses. And he brought the young bull for the sin offering. And Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the young bull for the sin offering. And he killed it. And Moses took the blood and put it on the horns of the altar all around with his finger, and purified the altar, and poured the blood at the bottom of the altar, and sanctified it, to make atonement on it. And he took all the fat on the inward parts, and the lobe above the liver, and the two kidneys and their fat, and Moses burned it on the altar. But the young bull and its hide, its flesh and its dung, he burned with fire outside the camp, even as Jehovah commanded Moses. And he brought the ram for the burnt offering. And Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram. And he killed it. And Moses sprinkled the blood on the altar all around. And he cut the ram into pieces. And Moses burned the head and the pieces and the fat. And he washed the inward parts and the legs in water. And Moses burned the whole ram on the altar. It was a burnt sacrifice for a sweet savor, a fire offering to Jehovah, even as Jehovah commanded Moses. And he brought the second ram, the ram of consecration. And Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram. And he killed it. And Moses took of the blood of it, and put it on the tip of Aaron's right ear, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. And he brought Aaron's sons, and Moses put the blood on the tip of their right ear, and on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the great toes of their right feet. And Moses sprinkled the blood on the altar all around. And he took the fat, and the fat tail, and all the fat on the inward parts, and the lobe above the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and the right shoulder. And he took one unleavened cake out of the basket of unleavened bread that was before Jehovah, and a cake of oiled bread, and one wafer, and put them on the fat, and on the right shoulder. And he put all on Aaron's hands, and on his sons' hands, and waved them for a wave offering before Jehovah. And Moses took them off their hands and burned them on the altar on the burnt offering. They were consecrations for a soothing fragrance. It is a fire offering to Jehovah. And Moses took the breast and waved it for a wave offering before Jehovah. It was Moses' part of the ram of consecration, even as Jehovah commanded Moses. And Moses took of the anointing oil, and of the blood which was on the altar, and sprinkled it on Aaron, and on his garments, and on his sons, and on his sons' garments with him. And he sanctified Aaron, his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him. And Moses said to Aaron and to his sons, Boil the flesh at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And eat it there with the bread in the basket of consecrations, as I have commanded, saying, Aaron and his sons shall eat it. And that which remains of the flesh and of the bread you shall burn with fire. You shall not go out of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation seven days, until the days of your consecration are at an end. For He shall consecrate you seven days. As He has done this day, Jehovah has commanded you to do, to make an atonement for you. And you shall remain at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation day and night seven days, and keep the charge of Jehovah, so that you do not die. For so I am commanded.

And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits, a wave offering before Jehovah, with the two lambs. They shall be holy to Jehovah for the priest. Verse Concepts

For Jehovah your God has chosen him out of all your tribes, to stand to minister in the name of Jehovah, him and his sons forever.

and to bring the first-born of our sons, and of our cattle, as it is written in the Law, and the firstlings of our herds and of our flocks, to bring to the house of our God, to the priests who minister in the house of our God; Verse Concepts

But the first-born of a cow, or the first-born of a sheep, or the first-born of a goat, you shall not redeem. They are holy. It shall have the two shoulder-pieces of it joined at the two edges of it. And so it shall be joined together. And the embroidered girdle of the ephod, which is upon it, shall be of the same, according to the work of it: of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined bleached linen. And you shall take two onyx stones, and you shall engrave on them the names of the sons of Israel. Six of their names shall be on one stone, and six of the remaining names on the other stone, according to their birth. With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet, you shall engrave the two stones with the names of the sons of Israel. You shall make them to be set in settings of gold. And you shall put the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for stones of memorial to the sons of Israel. And Aaron shall bear their names before Jehovah upon his two shoulders for a memorial. And you shall make plaited work of gold, and two chains of pure gold at the ends. You shall make them of woven work, a work of cord, and fasten the woven chains to the plaited work. And you shall make the breast-pocket of judgment with embroidered work. After the work of the ephod you shall make it; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined bleached linen, you shall make it. It shall be square, doubled; a span the length of it, and a span the breadth of it. And you shall set in it settings of stones, four rows of stones. And the Levites purified themselves, and they washed their clothes. And Aaron offered them, an offering before Jehovah. And Aaron made an atonement for them to purify them.

And in the second year of their coming to the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the rest of their brothers the priests and the Levites, and all they who had come out of the captivity to Jerusalem, began. And they chose the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to set forward the work of the house of Jehovah. And Jeshua stood up together with his sons and his brothers, Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, to set forward the workmen in the house of God the sons of Henadad, with their sons and their brothers the Levites. And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it. It shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it. And he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings. The fire shall always be burning on the altar. It shall never go out.

But if he is poorer than your judgment, then he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall value him. The priest shall value him according to the ability of him who vowed. Verse Concepts

Even as it was lifted from the young bull of the sacrifice of peace offerings, the priest shall burn them on the altar of the burnt offering. And the skin of the young bull, and all its flesh, with its head, and with its legs, and its inward parts, and its dung, even the whole bull shall he carry forth outside the camp to a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on the wood with fire. It shall be burned where the ashes are poured out.

And the priests and the Levites in all Israel presented themselves to him out of all their borders.

And when the seventh month had come, and the sons of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered themselves as one man to Jerusalem. And Jeshua the son of Jozadak stood up, and his brothers the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brothers. And they built the altar of the God of Israel in order to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is written in the Law of Moses the man of God. And they set the altar on its bases, for fear was on them because of the people of those countries. Also all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the nations. And they polluted the house of Jehovah which He had made holy in Jerusalem. Verse Concepts

And it happened when the ark of the covenant of Jehovah came into camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again.
