Thematic Bible: Foretells his own death and resurrection (in peraea)

Now they were on the road going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was going on ahead of them. And they were astounded, but those who were following [him] were afraid. And taking aside the twelve again, he began to tell them the things that were about to happen to him: "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles. And they will mock him and spit on him and flog him and kill [him], and after three days he will rise."

And [as] Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples by themselves and said to them on the way, "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death, and will hand him over to the Gentiles to mock [him] and flog [him] and crucify [him], and on the third day he will be raised."

And taking aside the twelve, he said to them, "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written by the prophets with reference to the Son of Man will be accomplished. For he will be handed over to the Gentiles and will be mocked and mistreated and spit on, and [after] flogging [him] they will kill him, and on the third day he will rise." read more.
And they understood none of these [things], and this saying was concealed from them, and they did not comprehend the things that were said.
