Glory » Whose glory becomes shame
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you shall be no priest to me: because you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children. As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.
Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increases that which is not his! how long? and to him that loads himself with many pledges! Shall they not rise up suddenly that are your creditors, and awake that shall oppress you, and you shall be for booty unto them? As the partridge sits on eggs, and hatches them not; so he that gets riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.
He that oppresses the poor to increase his riches, and he that gives to the rich, shall surely come to poverty.
