Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.

For I feared you, because you are a severe man: you take up what you laid not down, and reap what you did not sow.

But you have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judges? Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by which you are called?

Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivers from death.

And the messengers came again, and said, Thus speaks Ben-hadad, saying, Although I have sent unto you, saying, You shall deliver me your silver, and your gold, and your wives, and your children;

Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathers by labor shall increase.

The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.

He that oppresses the poor to increase his riches, and he that gives to the rich, shall surely come to poverty.

As the partridge sits on eggs, and hatches them not; so he that gets riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.

Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand. And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage. In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We are utterly ruined: he has changed the portion of my people: how he has removed it from me! turning away he has divided our fields. Therefore you shall have none that shall determine boundaries by lot in the congregation of the LORD.

Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the short measure that is abominable? Shall I count those pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights? For her rich men are full of violence, and her inhabitants have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.

Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increases that which is not his! how long? and to him that loads himself with many pledges! Shall they not rise up suddenly that are your creditors, and awake that shall oppress you, and you shall be for booty unto them? Because you have plundered many nations, all the remnant of the people shall plunder you; because of bloodshed, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell in it.read more.
Woe to him that covets an evil gain for his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of ruin! You have plotted shame to your house by cutting off many peoples, and have sinned against your soul. For the stone shall cry out from the wall, and the beam from the timber shall answer it.

He that withholds grain, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that sells it.

Though he heap up silver as the dust, and pile up clothing as the clay; He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.

Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.

Come now, you rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver is rusted; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as if it were fire. You have heaped treasure together for the last days.

Why should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity at my heels shall surround me? They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, You are my confidence;

Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

He that trusts in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.

Thus says the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glories glory in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, says the LORD.

In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the income of the wicked is trouble.

The labor of the righteous leads to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.

There is one that makes himself rich, yet has nothing: there is one that makes himself poor, yet has great riches. The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor hears not rebuke.

Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure with trouble. Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a fatted ox with hatred.

For he sees that wise men die, likewise the fool and the senseless person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

Surely every man walks in a vain show: surely they are in turmoil in vain: he heaps up riches, and knows not who shall gather them.

For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
