Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
Having then a great high priest, who hath passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but one that hath been in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
For the Son of man indeed goeth, as it hath been determined: but woe unto that man through whom he is betrayed! And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles have lordship over them; and they that have authority over them are called Benefactors. But ye'shall not be'so: but he that is the greater among you, let him become as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. For which is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am in the midst of you as he that serveth. But ye are they that have continued with me in my temptations;

But we behold him who hath been made a little lower than the angels, even Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for every man .
