And after six days, Jesus took with him Peter and James and John his brother, and led them up into a high mountain apart: and he was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his clothing was white as the light. And Peter answered and said to Jesus: Lord, it is good for us to be here; if thou wilt, let us make here three tents, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. While he was yet speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and lo, a voice from the cloud, saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I delight; hear him. And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces, and were greatly afraid. And Jesus came and touched them, and said: Arise and be not afraid. And when they lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus.
