He hath walled me about, that I cannot go forth; he hath made my chain heavy.

Thou hast beset me behind and before, And laid thy hand upon me.


There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power over the day of death; and there is no discharge in war: neither shall wickedness deliver him that is given to it.



Thou puttest my feet also in the stocks, And markest all my paths; Thou settest a bound to the soles of my feet:

He hath walled up my way that I cannot pass, And hath set darkness in my paths.
