nor do ye consider that it is expedient for you, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not." And this he said not of himself; but, being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was about to die for that nation; and not for that nation only, but that He might also gather together into one the children of God that are scattered abroad. From that day, therefore, they took counsel, that they might put Him to death. Jesus, therefore, was no longer openly walking about among the Jews; but He went away thence into the country near to the wilderness, to a city called Ephraim, and there He abode with the disciples.
