So be on your guard and watch yourselves, so that you do not forget the covenant of the Lord your God which He has made with you, and make for yourselves a carved or sculpted image in the form of anything which the Lord your God has forbidden you.
The covenant that I have made with you, you shall not forget; you shall not fear other gods.

I have gone astray like a lost sheep;
Seek Your servant, for I do not forget Your commandments.

And the Israelites did not remember the Lord their God, who had rescued them from the hand of all their enemies on every side;
They did not remember [the miracles worked by] His [powerful] hand,
Nor the day when He redeemed them from the enemy,

Our fathers in Egypt did not understand nor appreciate Your miracles;
They did not remember the abundance of Your mercies nor imprint Your lovingkindnesses on their hearts,
But they were rebellious at the sea, at the
Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, O my soul,
And do not forget any of His benefits;

That they should place their confidence in God
And not forget the works of God,
But keep His commandments,
But they quickly forgot His works;
They did not [patiently] wait for His counsel and purpose [to be revealed regarding them],

and you have forgotten the divine word of encouragement which is addressed to you as sons,
“My son, do not make light of the discipline of the Lord,
And do not lose heart and give up when you are corrected by Him;
And do not lose heart and give up when you are corrected by Him;
But he who looks carefully into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and faithfully abides by it, not having become a [careless] listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he will be blessed and favored by God in what he does [in his life of obedience].

That you should forget the Lord your Maker, Who stretched forth the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth, and fear continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, when he makes ready to destroy or even though he did so? And where is the fury of the oppressor? The captive exile and he who is bent down by chains shall speedily be released; and he shall not die and go down to the pit of destruction, nor shall his food fail. For I am the Lord your God, Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar and Who by rebuke restrains it -- "the Lord of hosts is His name.
