But Jehovah said to Samuel: Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature. I have rejected him. God does not see as man sees. Man looks at the outward appearance. Jehovah looks at the heart (inner man).

Do the rich oppress you, and personally drag you into court? Do they blaspheme the honorable name by which you are called? When you fulfill the royal law according to the scripture: You shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well. But when you show partiality you commit sin.
