And thou, Solomon my son: know God thy father and serve him with a pure heart and lust of soul. For the LORD searcheth all hearts and understandeth all the imaginations of thoughts. If thou shalt seek him, he will be found of thee: But and if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off forever.

And the king went straight toward the desert. And the host of the Chaldeans followed after him, and took him in the desert of Jericho, all his army being scattered away from him. And when they had taken him, they brought him to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon to Riblah, where they reasoned with him. And they slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and fettered him, and carried him to Babylon. And the seventh day of the fifth month which was in the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan servant of the king of Babylon and chief Marshal, unto Jerusalem:
