For the day of the LORD of hosts shall come upon everyone that is proud and lofty, and upon everyone that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:
Behold, the day of the LORD comes, and your spoil shall be divided in the midst of you.
Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD comes, for it is near at hand;
For the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near, a cloudy day; it shall be the time for the nations.
Wail you; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
Behold, the day of the LORD comes, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy its sinners out of it.
For it is the day of the LORD's vengeance, and the year of recompense for the controversy of Zion.
For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge himself of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be filled full and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts holds a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
You have called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the LORD'S anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have cared for and brought up has my enemy consumed.
Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
For the day of the LORD is near upon all the nations: as you have done, it shall be done unto you: your reward shall return upon your own head.
And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD'S sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king's children, and all such as are clothed with foreign apparel.

Before the decree comes forth, before the day passes like the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD comes upon you, before the day of the LORD'S anger comes upon you. Seek you the LORD, all you meek of the earth, who have kept his commands; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be you shall be hidden in the day of the LORD'S anger.

Come up, you horses; and rage, you chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; the Ethiopians and the Libyans, that handle the shield; and the Lydians, that handle and bend the bow.
