Thematic Bible: Jesus Christ being an example

For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. "He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth;" when he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he uttered no threats, but he trusted himself to him who judges justly.

Jesus said to him, "He who has bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not every one of you." For he knew who was to betray him; that was why he said, "You are not all clean."
