But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to set with the dogs of my flock. Yea, whereto should the strength of their hands profit me, men in whom vigour hath perished? They gather the salt-wort among the bushes, and the roots of the broom for their food. They are driven forth from among men they cry after them as after a thief -- To dwell in gloomy gorges, in caves of the earth and the rocks: They bray among the bushes; under the brambles they are gathered together: Sons of fools, and sons of nameless sires, they are driven out of the land. Will ye speak unrighteously for God? and for him speak deceit? Will ye accept his person? will ye contend for God? Will it be well if he should search you out? or as one mocketh at a man, will ye mock at him? He will certainly reprove you, if ye do secretly accept persons. Shall not his excellency terrify you? and his dread fall upon you? Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ashes, your bulwarks are bulwarks of mire. Hold your peace from me, and I will speak, and let come on me what will!

Are there not mockers around me? and doth not mine eye abide in their provocation?
