And the disciples came up and said to him, Why speakest thou to them in parables? And he answering said to them, Because to you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of the heavens, but to them it is not given;
And when he was alone, those about him with the twelve asked him as to the parables. And he said to them, To you is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to them who are without, all things are done in parables,
And his disciples asked him saying, What may this parable be? And he said, To you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest in parables, in order that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.

He comes therefore to Simon Peter; and he says to him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? Jesus answered and said to him, What I do thou dost not know now, but thou shalt know hereafter. read more.
