These things have I spoken to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full. This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do what I command you. If ye were of the world, the world would love its own; but because ye are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember what I said to you, A servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my words, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do to you on account of my name, because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. He that hateth me, hateth my Father also. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world giveth, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. Ye heard me say to you, I am going away, and am coming again to you. If ye loved me, ye would have rejoiced that I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it hath come to pass, that when it hath come to pass ye may believe. I shall not talk much more with you. For the prince of the world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
