Jesus said to them, If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, ‘We see,’ your sin remains.


And Jesus said, "For judgment I came into this world, so that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may become blind." Those of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things and said to Him, "We are not blind too, are we?" Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, 'We see,' your sin remains.

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber. Any place that does not receive you or listen to you, as you go out from there, shake the dust off the soles of your feet for a testimony against them.”

If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.


Nevertheless I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you.

For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law;


but the one who did not know it, and committed deeds worthy of a flogging, will receive but few. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.

The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

Jesus said to them, If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, ‘We see,’ your sin remains.

‘I am pure, without transgression;
I am innocent and there is no guilt in me.

Now some have become arrogant, as though I were not coming to you.


Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

The person who sins will die. The son will not bear the punishment for the father’s iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for the son’s iniquity; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself.

Fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor shall sons be put to death for their fathers; everyone shall be put to death for his own sin.

Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor.

If you are wise, you are wise for yourself,
And if you scoff, you alone will bear it.

But everyone will die for his own iniquity; each man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth will be set on edge.


“Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, each according to his conduct,” declares the Lord God. “Repent and turn away from all your transgressions, so that iniquity may not become a stumbling block to you.

You who preach that one shall not steal, do you steal? You who say that one should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? You who boast in the Law, through your breaking the Law, do you dishonor God?

For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed on to them. It has happened to them according to the true proverb, "A DOG RETURNS TO ITS OWN VOMIT," and, "A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire."
