Thus Moses gave unto the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben and unto half the tribe of Manasseh, the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, with its cities and borders, even the cities of the country round about. And the sons of Gad built Dibon and Ataroth and Aroer and Atroth-shophan and Jaazer and Jogbehah read more.
and Bethnimrah and Bethharan, fenced cities, and also folds for sheep. And the sons of Reuben built Heshbon and Elealeh and Kirjathaim and Nebo and Baalmeon (their names being changed) and Shibmah and gave other names unto the cities which they built. And the sons of Machir, the son of Manasseh, went to Gilead and took it and dispossessed the Amorite who was in it. And Moses gave Gilead unto Machir, the son of Manasseh; and he dwelt therein. Jair, the son of Manasseh also went and took the small towns thereof and called them Havothjair. Likewise Nobah went and took Kenath and its villages and called it Nobah, after his own name.

And their border was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead and half of the land of the sons of Ammon, unto Aroer that is before Rabbah, and from Heshbon unto Ramathmizpeh, and Betonim, and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir, and the valley of Betharam and Bethnimrah and Succoth and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon, king of Heshbon, the Jordan and its border, even unto the edge of the sea of Chinnereth on the other side of the Jordan eastward. This is the inheritance of the sons of Gad according to their families, these cities with their villages. And Moses also gave unto the half tribe of Manasseh, and it belonged to the half tribe of the sons of Manasseh according to their families. Their border was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty cities. And half of Gilead and Ashtaroth and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were given to the sons of Machir, the son of Manasseh, even to one half of the sons of Machir, according to their families.

Reubenites » Have their inheritance east of the jordan river
But the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the LORD is their inheritance; and Gad and Reuben and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance of the other side of the Jordan on the east, which Moses, the slave of the LORD, gave them.
Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan; and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei. And the LORD said unto me, Fear him not, for I have delivered him and all his people and his land into thy hand, and thou shalt do unto him as thou didst unto Sihon, king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon. And we took all his cities at that time there was not a city which we did not take from them, sixty cities, all the region of Argob, of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. All these cities were fenced with high walls, gates, and bars besides a great many unwalled towns. And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon, king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every city, men, women, and children. But all the beasts and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey to ourselves. And we also took at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites the land that was on this side of the Jordan, from the river of Arnon unto Mount Hermon (which Hermon the Sidonians call Sirion and the Amorites call it Shenir) and all the cities of the plain and all Gilead and all Bashan unto Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. For only Og, king of Bashan, had remained of the remnant of giants; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the sons of Ammon? Nine cubits was the length thereof and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man. And this land, which we inherited at that time, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, and half of Mount Gilead and the cities thereof, I gave unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites. And the rest of Gilead and all Bashan (fertile ground), being the kingdom of Og, gave I unto the half tribe of Manasseh: all the region of Argob, with all Bashan, which was called the land of giants. Jair, the son of Manasseh, took all the country of Argob unto the border of Geshuri and Maachathi and called them after his own name, Bashanhavothjair, unto this day. And I gave Gilead unto Machir. And unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites I gave from Gilead even unto the river Arnon, half the valley for a border even unto the river Jabbok, which is the border of the sons of Ammon, the plain also and the Jordan and the border thereof from Chinnereth even unto the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, under Ashdothpisgah eastward. And I commanded you at that time, saying, The LORD your God has given you this land to possess it; ye shall pass armed before your brethren, the sons of Israel, all that are valiant. Only your wives and your little ones and your livestock (for I know that ye have much livestock) shall abide in your cities which I have given you until the LORD has given rest unto your brethren, as well as unto you, and until they also inherit the land which the LORD your God has given them beyond the Jordan; then shall ye return each man unto his possession, which I have given you.

Sibmah » A city » A city of the tribe of reuben
For the vines of Heshbon were cut off and the vines of Sibmah; the lords of the Gentiles have trodden down the offshoots thereof, which had come even unto Jazer and extended through the wilderness; they had gone over the sea. Therefore I will bewail with the weeping Jazer of the vine of Sibmah; I will cause thee to drink my tears, O Heshbon and Elealeh, for the song shall cease upon thy summer fruits and thy harvest.
O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for thee with the weeping of Jazer; thy shoots are gone over the sea; they reach even to the sea of Jazer; the spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage.

And those men went and passed through the land, drawing it by cities into seven parts in a book and came again to Joshua to the camp at Shiloh.
