And Moses said to them, If the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben will pass with you over the Jordan, every man that is armed to battle, before LORD, and the land shall be subdued before you, then ye shall give them the land of Gil but if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben answered, saying, As LORD has said to thy servants, so we will do. We will pass over armed before LORD into the land of Canaan, and the possession of our inheritance [is] with us beyond the Jordan.

And the sons of Reuben, and the sons of Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, passed over armed before the sons of Israel, as Moses spoke to them. About forty thousand ready armed for war passed over before LORD to battle, to the plains of Jericho.
Then Joshua called the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and said to them, Ye have kept all that Moses the servant of LORD commanded you, and have hearkened to my voice in all that I commanded you. Ye have not left your brothers these many days to this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of LORD your God. read more.
