The lazy one says, There is a lion outside; I shall be killed in the streets.

The way of the lazy one is like a hedge of thorns, but the way of the righteous is made plain.

A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to lie down; then your poverty comes stalking, and your want like a man armed with a shield.

He who deals with a lazy hand becomes poor; but the hand of the hard worker makes rich. He who gathers in summer is a wise son; but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.

The desire of the lazy man kills him, for his hands have refused to work. He covets greedily all the day long; but the righteous gives and spares not.

The lazy one says, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets. As the door turns upon its hinges, so does the lazy man turn upon his bed. The lazy man hides his hand in his bosom; it grieves him to bring it again to his mouth. read more.
