I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you. I will put my words in his mouth. He will speak to them all that I command him.

I thought: These are only the poor and ignorant. They are foolish. They do not know what their God requires, what Jehovah wants them to do. I will go to the great men (leaders) and talk with them. Surely they know what their God requires, what Jehovah wants them to do. But all of them have rejected Jehovah's authority and refuse to obey him.

Jesus answered them: Strive to go in through the narrow door. Many people will try to go in and will not be able. The master of the house will close the door. You stand outside and knock on the door and say: 'Open the door for us, sir!' He will answer: 'I do not know where you come from!' Then you will answer, we ate and drank with you. You taught in our town! Again he will say: 'I do not know where you come from. Get away from me, you wicked people!' You will cry and grind your teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the Kingdom of God, while you are thrown out! People will come from east, west, north and south and sit down at the feast in the Kingdom of God. Those who are last will be first, and those who are first will be last. Some Pharisees came to Jesus and warned him: You must leave and go somewhere else for Herod wants to kill you. Jesus told them: Go tell that fox I cast out demons and heal people today and tomorrow.
