For in the days gone by Theudas appeared, claiming that he was a man of importance, and a considerable number of men, about four hundred, espoused his cause, but he was slain and all his followers were dispersed and as a party annihilated. After him, at the time of the enrollment for the Roman tax, Judas the Galilean appeared and influenced people to desert and follow him, but he too perished and all his followers were scattered.
Jesus answered, "Look out that no one misleads you about it, for many will come bearing the name of the Messiah, and saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many people.
"If anyone at that time says to you, 'Here is the Christ!' or 'There He is!' do not believe it, for false Christs and false prophets will announce themselves, and they will show great signs and wonders to mislead, if possible, God's chosen people. Remember, I have told you beforehand. read more.
So if they say to you, 'Here He is in the desert,' do not go out to see. Or 'Here He is in some secret place,' do not believe it.
So if they say to you, 'Here He is in the desert,' do not go out to see. Or 'Here He is in some secret place,' do not believe it.
Jesus began to say to them: "Look out that no one misleads you about it. Many will come bearing the name of Messiah, and saying, 'I am He,' and they will mislead many.
"If anyone says to you at that time, 'Look! Here is the Christ,' or, 'Look! There He is,' do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will announce themselves, and they will do signs and wonders to mislead, if possible, even God's chosen people. So you must be on your guard. I have warned you about it all beforehand.
And men will say to you, 'Look! There he is!' or, 'Look! Here He is!' Do not start in pursuit of Him, for just as when the lightning flashes, it shines from one end of the sky to the other, so will the Son of Man be when He comes.
So He said, "You must take care not to be misled about it! For many will come bearing the name of Messiah, and saying, 'I am He,' and, 'The time is near.' Do not go after them.

Now, when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them, "The kingdom of God is not coming with visible display, and so people will not say, 'Look! Here it is,' nor, 'There it is,' for the kingdom of God is within you." Then He said to His disciples, "The time will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it. read more.
And men will say to you, 'Look! There he is!' or, 'Look! Here He is!' Do not start in pursuit of Him, for just as when the lightning flashes, it shines from one end of the sky to the other, so will the Son of Man be when He comes. But first He has to endure much suffering, and be disowned by this age. And just as it was in the time of Noah, so it will be in the time of the Son of Man. People continued to eat, drink, marry, and be married, right up to the day when Noah went into the ark, and the Flood came and destroyed them all. It was so in the time of Lot; people continued to eat, drink, buy, sell, plant, and build; and the very day Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be so on the day when the Son of Man appears The man who is on the roof of his house that day, and his goods in the house, must not come down to carry them out; and the man in the field, too, must not turn back. Remember Lot's wife! Whoever tries to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses it will preserve it. I tell you, two men will be in the same bed that night; one will be taken, the other left. Two women will be grinding together; one will be taken, the other left." Omitted Text. Then they asked Him, "Where, Lord, will this be?" And He said to them, "Wherever there is carrion the vultures will flock."
