On the first day of unleavened bread, the disciples came to Jesus, and said to him: Where dost thou wish that we prepare for thee to eat the passover? He replied: Go into the city, to a certain man, and say to him, The Teacher says, My time is near; I will keep the passover at your house, with my disciples. When the evening had come, he reclined at table with the twelve. And as they were eating, he said: Verily I say to you, One of you will deliver me up. And they were very sad, and began each one of them to say to him: Lord, is it I? He answered and said: He that dips his hand with me in the dish, will deliver me up. The Son of man goes, as it is written of him; but alas for that man by whom the Son of man is delivered up! It would have been good for that man, if he had not been born. And Judas, who delivered him up, answered and said: Rabbi, is it I? He replied: You have said. And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said: Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying: Do you all drink of it: for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many in order to the remission of sins. But I say to you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, till that day when I drink it with you new in the kingdom of my Father. And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

And he said to them: Behold, as you go into the city, there shall meet you a man carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house that he enters; and say to the master of the house: The Teacher says to you, Where is the room in which I may eat the passover with my disciples? And he will show you a large upper room furnished; there make ready. And they went, and found as he had said to them; and they made ready the passover. And when the hour had come, he reclined at table, and the twelve apostles with him. And he said to them: I have greatly desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer. For I say to you, I will eat of it no more till it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said: Take this, and divide it among yourselves; for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine till the kingdom of God has come. And he took bread, and gave thanks; and he broke, and gave it to them, saying: This is my body, which is given for you: do this in remembrance of me. In like manner also, the cup, after he had supped, saying: This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you.
