And he questioned him with many words; but he answered him nothing. And the chief priests and scribes stood up, violently accusing him. And Herod, with his soldiers, treated him with contempt, and mocked him, and put on him a splendid garment, and sent him back to Pilate. And Pilate and Herod became friends to each other on that day; for they had before been enemies to each other.

On the same day some of the Pharisees came to him, saying, Go out and depart hence, for Herod wishes to kill you. And he said to them, Go and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out demons, and finish [performing] cures to-day and to-morrow, and on the third day I shall finish my course.
